Understanding Health Across U.S. Counties: What the 2018 CDC Data Tells Us

Today, I took a close look at the 2018 health data from the CDC, focusing on rates of Diabetes, Obesity, and Inactivity across different U.S. counties.

First, I got a sense of the average rates and how much they vary from place to place.
Next, I looked at how “out of the ordinary” the data is. For example, I found some counties where the rates of obesity are surprisingly high.
I also tried to see if the location of a county could predict these health issues. Turns out, it really can’t.
I spotted some counties where the health rates are way off the charts. These could be interesting to look into further.
