The Geographic Divide: States with the Highest and Lowest Rates of Diabetes

I analyzed data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for the year 2018 to identify states that are most affected by these conditions.

My Findings on Geographic Variations:

Top 5 States with the Highest Rates of Diabetes:
Through my analysis, I found that the states most affected by diabetes are predominantly in the South. The top 5 states are:

Alabama
Hawaii
Louisiana
Mississippi
Georgia

Top 5 States with the Highest Rates of Obesity:
Interestingly, the geographic distribution is more varied when it comes to obesity. The top 5 states are:

Washington
Nebraska
Arkansas
Montana
Tennessee

Top 5 States with the Highest Rates of Physical Inactivity:
In terms of physical inactivity, the states are geographically diverse. The top 5 states are:

Nebraska
Kentucky
New York
Oklahoma
Alabama

Notable Observations:
After closely examining the data, a few key observations stood out:

Alabama appears in the top 5 for both diabetes and physical inactivity, signaling a broader public health challenge.
Southern states are more prominently featured in the list for diabetes, indicating a regional issue.
There isn’t a single state that tops all three lists, which shows the complexity of public health issues.
